Evel Knievel dies.

kneival-2.jpg

I grew up on Evel Knievel, had all the toys and everything. Must’ve watched the George Hamilton movie a hundred times.

He was one tough, cocky, Son of a Bitch.

He was a great American.

I’m Speechless

Posted by bmac on November 30, 2007

This is getting beyond ridiculous.

KHARTOUM, Sudan (AP) – Thousands of Sudanese, many armed with clubs and knives, rallied Friday in a central square and demanded the execution of a British teacher convicted of insulting Islam for allowing her students to name a teddy bear “Muhammad.”

It’s a fucking Teddy Bear jackoffs.

These people are savages.

Merry Christmas!….We’re All Gonna Die!

Posted by bmac on November 30, 2007

Seattle Mayor Greg Nickels wrote a letter to Santa, to save him from global warming.

Talk about thin ice! It sounds like you had one doozy of a summer up in the North Pole, and quite frankly I’m worried. I read the stories about how the Arctic sea ice shrank to a record low this year and that scientists are pointing the finger at global warming. Some say if we don’t do something to cut greenhouse gas emissions soon, the North Pole might be ice free in summer as early as 2030. Reindeer fly, but can they swim, too?I for one would rather not find out. That’s why we’re launching “Operation Save Santa.”

Twas the night before Christmas, and all through the house, not a creature was stirring….BECAUSE THEY WERE ALL WIPED OUT BY GREEDY CAPITALISTS WHO HATE YOU, AND YOUR MOMMY, YOUR DADDY, MRS.CLAUSE, AND RUDOLPH, AND EVERY LIVING THING ON THE FACE OF THE EARTH!!!!

Merry Christmas kids!

1/3 Of Americans Are Obese….Fatass

Posted by bmac on November 29, 2007

Apparently we are a nation of lardasses.

With more than 72 million Americans counted as obese, adult obesity rates for both sexes seem to be holding steady at about 34 percent, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reported.

I don’t buy this. Overweight maybe, but obese?  The article doesn’t specify what the definition of obese is, and I’m way too lazy to look it up, but I’m sure it’s a ridiculous standard, like the CDC’s standard for being overweight, the same standards that make most professional athletes overweight.

This is the typical alarmist crap that makes it possible to outlaw really tasty stuff made with sweet, sweet trans-fats. Propaganda for the food police to regulate one more thing in our lives, on our way to a smoke free, taste free, freedom free utopian wonderland full of low fat lollipops and multi-cultural unicorns, under a gay rainbow.

I can already see the news report: A montage of huge fat asses shot from the waist, cut to a shot of someone wolfing down a greasy cheeseburger, another gigantic rump waddling down the street, oblivious to the fact they’re being filmed, and later mocked as an example of everything wrong with America, cut back to another person (not fat) getting ready to dig in to a gargantuan plate of disgusting looking crap that was probably meant for more than one person (but edited not to look that way), all while a narrator makes references to “Super-sizing” and probably drops in a Wal-Mart reference somewhere just for good measure, and when we cut back to the anchors, they’re shaking their heads in a condescending manner, as if to say, “I’m not fat, I care about my appearance, why can’t those disgusting pigs in that montage just go to the gym for God’s sake.”

*Whew*

I don’t see many people I would consider obese on a daily basis, certainly not 1/3 of the people I see everyday. Do you?

Massachusetts Not Effete Enough

Posted by bmac on November 28, 2007

Possible Spanking Ban!  In Massachusetts!

If this proposal does become law and parents are caught hitting their children who are under the age of 18, they could be charged with abuse or neglect.

This seems to rear it’s ugly head every few years or so, and so far I don’t think it’s ever actually passed anywhere, but if it will pass, it’ll be in Massachusetts. I wouldn’t expect anything less from the state that continues to re-elect the effeminate kept-man, and the bloated communist.

Flight 93 Memorial Blogburst #8

Posted by bmac on November 28, 2007

Mary Bomar’s fraudulent investigation

In April 2006, Park Service Director Mary Bomar ordered an internal investigation into claims that the planned Flight 93 Memorial is actually a terrorist memorial mosque, built abound a giant Mecca-oriented crescent. Bomar’s investigation was a total fraud, concluding, for instance, that it isn’t possible to calculate the orientation of the crescent because the site-plan has not been geo-referenced. (Page 2, PP2 of September 2006 summary report. Page 1 here.)In fact, the original Crescent of Embrace site-plan was drawn on a topo map that the Memorial Project provided to all participants in the design competition. A topo map is the epitome of a geo-referenced map. North marked on a topo map is true north, which is the only piece of information needed to calculate the orientation of the crescent. Just connect the tips of the crescent, form the perpendicular bisector, and calculate how many degrees it points from north (53.4).Also known are the crash-site coordinates, which is all that is needed to calculate the direction to Mecca (55.2° clockwise from north). All of this is trivially easy to verify. Just use the Mecca-direction calculator at Islam.com to get a graphic of the direction to Mecca from the crash site and place it over the crescent site plan:
cid_000901c831648e8c02106502a8c0boxbarnmain.jpg

Somerset PA is ten miles from the crash-site. The “qibla” is the direction to Mecca. Red lines show the orientation of the crescent. The crescent points 1.8° north of Mecca. (Click for larger image.)A request for oversightBecause it is the director’s office that has been covering up the Mecca-orientation of the crescent, oversight can only come from Interior Secretary Dirk Kempthorne himself. Several people sent letters to Secretary Kempthorne two weeks ago, showing how the giant Mecca-oriented crescent remains completely intact in the so called redesign. But Mr. Kempthorne also needs to know that he is getting bad information from his subordinates in the Park Service. Thus a request for all readers of this post: if you have a minute, please copy and paste this entire post into an email for Secretary Kempthorne.

We don’t need for the secretary to understand all the terrorist memorializing features in the design, or the numerous proofs of intent that architect Paul Murdoch included so that his accomplishment will be undeniable once it is a fait accompli. It is enough that he be concerned about features that can be readily interpreted as terrorist memorializing, whether they are intended or not. As Congressman Tancredo put it: we need “a new design that will not make the memorial a flashpoint for this kind of controversy and criticism.”

But even getting to the most basic facts about what is in the present design requires getting past Mary Bomar’s fraudulent report, which tries to pretend that there is nothing that can even be interpreted as untoward.
Mary Bomar’s intellectually dishonest “experts”

In addition to claiming that topo maps are not geo referenced, Mary Bomar’s internal investigation cites a small number of academic experts, all of whom spout nothing but the most absurd non sequiturs. One is Dr. Daniel Griffith, professor of “geo-spatial information” at the University of Texas. About Alec Rawls’ analysis of the Mecca orientation of the giant crescent, Dr. Griffith writes:

… Mr. Rawls’s arithmetic calculations appear to be correct … [but] … just because calculations are correct does not make the resulting numbers meaningful.

Dr. Griffith’s point, it seems, is that the mere fact of Mecca orientation does not imply intent. Who said it did? The way Murdoch proves intent is by repeating his Mecca orientations (scroll down to the last section here). But intent is not the only thing that matters. Even without terrorist memorializing intent, it is inappropriate to plant a giant Mecca oriented crescent on the crash site. The Memorial Project knows this, but it is committed to defending the crescent design, so it keeps using its doubts about intent as an excuse for denying the facts. Dr. Griffith, for instance, is telling every reporter who will listen that there is no such thing as the direction to Mecca. “Anything can point toward Mecca,” he told the Pittsburgh Post Gazette, “because the earth is round.” One billion Muslims face Mecca five times a day to pray, and Griffith pretends there is no such thing as facing Mecca!Of course he knows better. The first thing that Griffith’s report does is calculate the direction to Mecca:

I computed an azimuth value from the Flight 93 crater site to Mecca of roughly 55.20°.

Bomar expert #2
Dr. Kevin Jaques, specialist in Islamic sharia law from the University of Indiana, acknowledges that the Mecca-oriented crescent is similar to the mihrab around which every mosque is built, but says:

…just because something is ‘similar to’ something else does not make it the ‘same’.

Yes, well, similar–very, very similar–is exactly the problem.Like Daniel Griffith, Mr. Jaques is trying to make hay of the fact that Mecca orientation does not by itself imply intent. So what? Intentional or not, it is unacceptable for the central feature of the Flight 93 memorial to be a geometric match for the central feature of a mosque. Jaques is pretending that the questions he raises about intent somehow make the facts irrelevant.Professor Jaques also dismisses the likeness between the Mecca-oriented crescent and a traditional Islamic mihrab by noting that lots of religious structures have prayer-direction indicators, not just mosques:

The biggest hole in [Rawls’] argument is that all of the elements he points to are common architectural features that one would find in a church or synagogue. The mihrab originated in pre-Islamic buildings and can be found in temples, churches, and synagogues around the Mediterranean.

This is logic? Because Christian churches are often oriented to the east, that somehow makes it okay to build the Flight 93 memorial around a half-mile wide Mecca oriented crescent? If this is “the biggest hole in [Rawls’] argument,” then there are no holes in Rawls’ argument.Project spokesmen know the truth, and are lying about itMemorial Project spokesmen have followed the lead of these academic frauds, using doubts about intent as a pretext for denying the facts. Asked about Rawls’ Mecca orientation claim, Patrick White, vice president of Families of Flight 93, denied it:

Rawls’ claims are untrue and “preposterous,” according to Patrick White, Families of Flight 93 vice president. “We went through in detail all his original claims and came away with nothing.”

In fact, Patrick White is fully aware of the Mecca orientation of the giant crescent. At the Memorial Project’s public meeting in July he argued that the almost-exact Mecca orientation of the giant crescent cannot be intended as a tribute to Islam because the inexactness of it would be “disrespectful to Islam.”Joanne Hanley has done the same:

“Alec Rawls bases all of his conclusions on faulty assumptions,” said Joanne Hanley, the superintendent of the Flight 93 National Memorial. “In addition, the facts are twisted and people are misquoted, all to serve his intended purpose.”

But she too has admitted the Mecca-orientation of the giant crescent, telling Mr. Rawls in a 2006 conference call that she wasn’t concerned about the almost-exact Mecca orientation of the crescent because: “It isn’t exact. That’s one we talked about. It has to be exact.” (Crescent of Betrayal, download 3, page 145.)These are your subordinates Mr. Kempthorne. Please do not let them get away with this fraud. Congressman Tancredo is demanding answers from Director Bomar and many of us are hoping that you will do the same. There is not much time. Construction on Paul Murdoch’s terrorist memorial mosque is about to begin.Sincerely,

Mandatory Cell Phones For College Students/Cell Phone Rant

Posted by bmac on November 27, 2007

Constant GPS tracking of your kids. I read this wrong the first time, as if they were just gonna make every kid carry a cell phone, but they have to carry the schools cell phone.

My rant still stands though.

God I hate cell phones. I am so sick of listening to every jackoffs personal conversation at the bank, the grocery store, and the worst of all, at my business. I own a retail business, and every day, almost every customer of mine, gets a call in the middle of our transaction, and I have to stand there with my thumb up my ass until they finish bullshitting. It’s never a business call, or anything important, just the usual “Hey….Nothin’….. what are you doin?” For about five minutes, then finally, “Hey, let me call you back.” Gee thanks for ending your bullshit call after only wasting five minutes of my time.

People are generally rude enough as it is, but cell phones have added a whole new level of obnoxiousness to everyday life. Especially Bluetooths. Fricken Bluetooths. Nothing like getting the finger in your face, as you mistakenly think some jackass might actually be talking to you, instead of yapping about nothing into his ear-piece.

cell-phone.jpg

I was talking to another business owner, he owns a small fast food franchise, about 4 stores, and he won’t answer any calls from his managers, because instead of figuring anything out on their own, they’ll just call him 50 times a day, cause they can. For the most part, cell phones are a hindrance to business, not a help. Just ten years ago, the world actually functioned, the sun actually rose, things actually happened, without cell phones.

Don’t even get me started on texting.

Stephen King-Moonbat

Posted by bmac on November 27, 2007

You know, I wish Iraq would be over, if only so I can stop finding out that every single person who’s work I’ve ever enjoyed is a total fucking retard.

So I said something to the Nightlineguy about waterboarding, and if the Bush administration didn’t think it was torture, they ought to do some personal investigation. Someone in the Bush family should actually be waterboarded so they could report on it to George. I said, I didn’t think he would do it, but I suggested Jenna be waterboarded and then she could talk about whether or not she thought it was torture.

This is so tired. Does Stephen King think “Bush” is just rounding up random Arabs and waterboarding them just for the fuck of it? If you disagree with Iraq, fine. I can deal with that. But to say something like this, is just ignorant and naive. Clearly, Stephen King has the mind of a child, which is great if you’re writing spooky stories, but shut yer pie-hole in matters that are obviously beyond your level of comprehension.

Here’s where he gives his “I’m informed” bona fides:

So you’re a news junkie?
I got hooked by my wife. You’d be surprised, or maybe you wouldn’t be surprised, being that I’m around John Mellancamp a lot — he and I are doing this play. But it’s the news 24-7. Always on.

He’s around John Couger a lot. News 24/7. Doing a play.  Well, there ya go. Informed.

The “being around John Couger a lot” part pretty much negates anything said after it.

Buchanan Book Declares End Of America

Posted by bmac on November 27, 2007

I hate to be pessimistic, but I have to agree, at least on some of what he says.

 A few of his points:

• The Third World invasion through Mexico is a graver threat to our survival as one nation than anything happening in Afghanistan or Iraq

As concerned as I am about terrorism, it’s really a pimple on the ass of what’s happening with immigration. I would bet that there’s more gang related deaths every year than terrorist related deaths, yet we certainly don’t have a color coded threat level advisory about that shit. I’ve seen entire communities turned into Barrios practically overnight, and most people in the southwest have seen it too.

I believe this is the single biggest issue facing this country today. What’s worse, who’s gonna stop it? Republicans want cheap labor, Democrats want votes. It’s that simple. You often hear the argument that illegals “pay taxes.” Yep, they sure do. They also don’t file returns, or receive refunds. How much do you think that adds up to to Uncle Sam? Do you think they want to stop that kind of cash flow to appease the core GOP voters? Good luck getting that fence built. Oh, and make sure your kids learn Spanish, cause they’re gonna need it.

U.S. manufacturing is being hollowed out.

As a small business owner and entrepreneur, I whole-heartedly believe in the free market. At the same time, mega-corporations are becoming the rule instead of the exception, making everything I buy a piece of shit. I’m not anti-Wal Mart, but they have forced manufactures to find the cheapest way to produce whatever they want to put in their stores, and that means not made by Americans. Quantity over quality, and we’re eating it up. When is enough enough? How gargantuan should Wal Mart be? I can easily see Wal Mart being the only retail store in existence, because eventually, nobody will be able to compete. They’ll sell everything you could ever possibly need, in fact, they pretty much do now. I also hear they may buy Home Depot.

Torn asunder by a culture war, America has now begun to break down along class, ethnic and racial lines.

The biggest problem here I believe is the mainstreaming of “Ghetto Culture.” Used to be, people aspired to make money to get out of the ghetto, now they just take the ghetto with them. Thugs are the role models of 2007, and young girls practically aspire to be single mothers. Ghetto and hip hop culture has been the single most damaging trend ever. Even worse than the hippies. If you have kids, just tune into MTV for a few hours to get an idea of what’s being rammed down their throats every day. Even if you don’t allow it in your house, they’re still being influenced by this stuff everywhere else. We are glamorizing the very worst aspects of our society, and it’ll take it’s toll. And contrary to popular belief, Ghetto Culture adds to racial tension rather than easing it.

Look, I know Buchanan is a bit of a kook, and a little alarmist, but he does make some pretty valid points, that no one wants to address. Just my two cents, because I’m in a pessimistic mood.

Natalie Holloway And Elizabeth Smart

Posted by bmac on November 23, 2007

Natalie Holloway’s mother is dating Jon Benet’s father.

A match made in hell.

I don’t think anybody cares about the Natalie Holloway thing anymore, and they shouldn’t. It was rammed down our throats enough. It’s pretty obvious the Aruba authorities are basically the “Fun Police” and will probably never be able to successfully prosecute an actual murder if it wasn’t captured on video by the “Girls Gone Wild” crew.

I blame the parents of Natalie Holloway. WTF are you doing sending a cute high school girl to another country to party? When I was in high school, the senior trip was to Disneyland. When did this sending high school kids out of the country to drink and screw become  OK?

My wife and I went to Cabo about 9 years ago, and all the bars were packed with 16-18 year old girls who were so drunk they were stumbling and falling all over the place, high school kids on their senior trip. No chaperons in sight. I have no doubt some rapes went down. How could they not? The bars were absolutely plowing these kids with booze. It was disturbing and shocking to me, that parents willingly sent their daughters into that environment, and at that time, I was a pretty liberal guy.

Same thing with the Elizabeth Smart case. The idiot father, with two young daughters, hires homeless guys to work on his house!  I don’t know Mr. Smarts politics, but I’d bet he votes Democrat. Only a liberal could be that stupid. (in case you don’t know, one of the homeless guys he hired kidnapped his daughter) Newsflash douchbag, most homeless people are criminals, drug addicts, clinically insane, or a combo of all three, and it’s not a great idea to invite them into your home, no matter how much you want to “Give back.” Your daughter paid the price of your good intentions you fucking tool.

As did Natalie Holloway. I have exactly zero sympathy for the parents of Natalie Holloway, zero, for knowingly sending her to a place notorious for underage drinking and general chaos for her senior trip, and out of the country no less. At least her mom got a hot new celebrity boyfriend out of the deal.
